imPress Manicure by Broadway VoxBox by Influenster

I got these press-on nails in the mail to review thanks to Influenster's VoxBox! Now I can only recall one other time where I used press-on nails and that was at my cousin's wedding. I was 12 years old and I thought I was the coolest kid in town with my clearly too-long-and-fake press-on nails; fast forward almost 10 years and here I am, trying these new press-on nails.

Now I'll be honest, when I opened this box I was disappointed to find such outrageous colours that we were sent. I mean, come on! Do people go out in public with pink stripy clearly fake nails? Let's just say, this is why it took me this long to review these. I refuse to wear these out in public, the darker ones aren't as bad but it's Spring for goodness sake! Who wants to wear nails like Disney's Evil Queen (that's the colour of those...). I mean, at least when I tried press-on nails at my cousin's wedding they were a French Manicure style... which is what these should have been!!!

Moving along, the instructions are pretty straight forward:

  1. Lay out 10 nails that fit your own nail sizes to ensure it looks natural as possible (yeah right... pink glittery stripes)
  2. Wipe your nails with the prep pad provided
  3. Peel the backs off the nails
  4. Press onto your nail bed and be sure to do your thumbs last (I assume this is because you're going to be using your thumbs to press the other fingers' nails down)
  5. Now you have fabulous nails!

I was not a fan of this colour. I'm so disappointed because I would have tested them longer than just an hour if they were something I would wear out in public.

The actual product (pattern aside) is not bad at all. In the picture you can see them placed on the nails without being trimmed or filed down or anything like that. I did trim them down and file them and they were extremely easy to do so! I was very imPressed (ha! See what I did there?) at how flexible these nails were.

I ended up leaving them on for about an hour. I did see what it would be like to paint over them with another nail polish I had lying around (Sally Hansen's Mint Sorbet) and it didn't look bad at all! The only issue was that the base of the fake nail wasn't very close to the nail bed. Regardless, painting over these nails is possible, I can't comment on the longevity of the colour if you paint over them though.

Also, they did take some pulling pressure to remove from the nails. They left very minimal residue when removed, however.

Overall, this isn't a bad product at all. I'll probably end up using the other colour in the Fall for Halloween or just for fun. There are 24 nails in each package, I may try and re-use the pink nails if I paint over them and can find ones that are the right fit for my nail shape.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

  1. Great review! This pattern actually looks really nice on your nails. :) Haha, don't worry, because they send off random patterns to everyone, I'm sure tons of people got designs that weren't necessarily their cups of tea (including me!).

    1. Oh! The leopard ones you got were super cute! I still don't know if I would have wanted to wear them in public though haha! I saw quite a few different patterns that were sent, but by far, the pink ones I got were the furthest away from my own personal taste, to say the least. It's a shame because I couldn't fully test them...

    2. Me neither! You know what, don't feel too bad - my leopard ones didn't even last a day, so I couldn't fully test them out either. :( By the way, we get another design sent to us if we complete the brand challenges, right? Maybe you'll luck out and get a design you really like!

    3. Yeah, I completed the brand challenge so hopefully we get nicer designs. (I completed mine a little late, though so I don't know if it still counts...)
