Coastal Scents Revealed Eyeshadow Palette | Swatches & UD Dupes

There's nothing quite like taking pictures of a fresh, untouched eyeshadow palette...

Coastal Scents released this palette as a response to the very popular Urban Decay Naked and Naked2 palettes and it's supposed to contain dupes for both palettes. Now, I don't actually own any of the UD palettes, however through the power of the internet, and other blogs, I was able to label my own palette with the corresponding eyeshadows from Urban Decay.

You can see in the above picture that it quite closely resembles its more expensive counterpart, the Urban Decay Naked & Naked2. Let's have a closer look (I feel like I'm voicing over an instructional video or something LOL):

The pigmentation of these eyeshadows are amazing. Even the lighter shades are very well pigmented and will not disappoint, whatsoever. I'm sure the majority of you want to know, well... what are the dupes?! Here they are, ladies (and gents!):

When it comes to the dupes, it contains a lot of dupes for the UD palettes, except for a few shades that, through my research, seem to have been excluded from this palette. The ones excluded are: Smog, Creep and Chopper (which can actually be found in the Revealed2 palette... blog post is coming soon!).

You can also see that there are three shades that most of the blogs in my research concluded did not belong in any of the Naked palettes, so I guess you have three other shades to play with!

When it comes to the quality of these eyeshadows, they're extremely pigmented.  All the eyeshadows are soft, but the shimmery ones are especially soft. These were all swatched with no primer or base underneath, so you can see how insanely pigmented they are. Also, they didn't have a lot of fallout, if any, so they are very easy to work with!

I think this palette is an incredible value. Here in Canada, one Urban Decay Naked palette is $64, whereas one Coastal Scents Revealed palette is $19.99, AND every once in a while they put it on sale. I actually bought these back during Black Friday where each palette was on sale for $9.99... so if you're doing the math... you get the UD Naked and Naked2 shades (combined it would be $128) all in one palette for $9.99.... like WHAT?! Insane, right??

I, of course, have a couple points of improvement with this palette, the first being that they don't have names given to their eyeshadows. I mean, maybe they did that so that you'd do what I just did and label it according to its dupes, but just in general, it would be nice for them to have been labelled so that it's easy to refer to them. This palette is incredibly thin and makes it the perfect size for travelling, compared to the UD palettes which are quite bulky, but that being said, this eyeshadow palette doesn't come with a mirror, and that definitely keeps the cost down, BUT I'm thinking I may buy a roll of mirror sheet (what's the technical term?), cut it down to size and attach it to the inside of the palette, that way there's at least some reflective surface to use when you're in a pinch.

Overall, if you've been wondering about this palette, or have lusted over the UD palettes but can't justify that price, I would highly recommend going over to Coastal Scents and getting this palette. Also, I have a similar blog post going up soon with the Revealed2 palette which has dupes for the UD Naked3, and actually a few shades from the Lorac Unzipped (spoiler alert... you need that one too).

Have you tried this palette? Do you own the UD palettes? Would you have gotten these palettes instead?
